Gobashtami On 5.11.2019

Gobashtami was celebrated in our vidyalaya on 5th November 2019. Two cows and their calves were brought by the parent of our  vidyalaya. Shri. R.M.R. Janakiraman ji, vice-president of SMDC graced the occasion. The program started with invocation to God. All the students of our vidyalaya attended this holistic moment of Gobashtami program.

Shri. S. Ponpandian, principal welcomed the gathering. He said that Gomatha is the mother of the universe and insisted that we should protect them. He extol the importance of Gomatha in the vedic way of life because of the kind of central role she plays in our religion and spirituality.

Hon. Asst. correspondent addressed the gathering.  He said that we need Gomadha not only for the product we get from them but also for the Identity of Hindus. He also shared the using of cows in ancient days. He insisted that in ancient days she was considered as one of the family members.

         Vice –President of SMDC Shri. R.M.R. Janaki Raman ji shared his experience with the children. He said that he stays healthy and energetic only because of the consumption of the milk and milk products of Gomatha. He mentioned that it is the treasure of Hindus and we should preserve it with utmost care. He stressed that worship of Gomatha can be done every Friday to inculcate the importance of Gomadha in the young minds.

The priest started the pooja with vinayagar sthuthi, which was followed by the pooja to Gomadha. The lady teachers were performed pooja and the whole place was filled with holistic aroma. The children performed bhajan which added more sanctity to it..

A stall was kept in our vidyalaya on the same day which contain the products made of Pancha Gauvya for sale. Parents , students and teachers showed interest in purchasing the products.

Children offered flowers to Gomadha and prasadham was offered to Gomadha.

            The celebration concluded with Mangala harathi to Gomadha.
